Along with attorneys from the Innocence Project, Martin Tankleff testified at the NYC Council Committees on Oversight & Investigations and Public Safety on examining the impact of the NYPD Erie Basin Storage Facility fire.
He discussed the NYPD's handling of DNA evidence generally, as well as the impact that the destroyed evidence has for the chances of exoneration for many of those who have been wrongfully convicted for crimes they did not commit.
