Steven Epstein Announces 'Man vs. Machine VII- Defending the DWI Case'

We are pleased to announce that the “Seventh Annual Man vs. Machine Seminar – Defending the DWI Case” will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 (a court holiday) at Brooklyn Law School’s Moot Courtroom, 250 Joralemon St., Brooklyn, NY.

This year’s program will include lectures by Steven Epstein on using the new discovery laws to win DWI cases; Anthony Palacios and Steven Epstein on the NHTSA three phases of a DUI investigation; Dan McGuiness on winning motions to keep the breath test out of evidence; Lisa Saltzman on handling refusal hearings at the DMV; and Eric Sills’ yearly review of DWI case law.

We are thrilled to have Stacy Cowley present the keynote address entitled Uncovering the Truth – The Story Behind the Article “These Machines Can Put You in Jail.”  The New York Times interviewed more than 100 lawyers, scientists, executives and police officers and reviewed tens of thousands of pages of court records, corporate filings, confidential emails and contracts over the past year. Their investigation exposed that breath tests, a linchpin of the criminal justice system, are often unreliable. Stacy Cowley, one of the authors who conducted this investigation, will share the evolution of her story with us.
