Our Partner, John LoTurco, on January 27, 2025, judged a Huntington High School Mock Trial scrimmage. Mr. LoTurco is a 1984 graduate of Huntington High School, and was the Mock Trial Team’s attorney coach from 2014 until 2022.
His son, as a Huntington High School senior, founded the Mock Trial Team in 2014, and the program has been a perennial winner ever since. LoTurco’s two daughters also participated in the program during their time at Huntington High School.
The Huntington High School Mock Trial Team has won three Suffolk County Championships, and went on to take second place in the New York State competition two times, and third place in the in the other. It is noteworthy that there are over 450 teams in New York State and over 30 teams in Suffolk County.
During Mr. LoTurco’s tenure as attorney coach, the team had an over 90% victory record. He continues to support the program and advises with their current coach on strategy and attends practice when the team requests his consultation.
