After the Barket Epstein team conducted extensive interviews over the past several months, Danielle Muscatello filed a lawsuit on behalf of 44 men who were victims of physical and psychological abuse at the Green Haven Correctional Facility by members of the Correctional Emergency Response Team and others, which occurred during a State-ordered lockdown and full facility search of the prison from October 4 through October 11, 2023.
These men have stepped forward through this lawsuit to obtain compensation for the injuries they sustained as a result of this violent, dehumanizing, days-long event.
Green Haven Correctional Facility is a maximum-security prison in Dutchess County. Great Meadow Correctional Facility is a maximum-security prison in Washington County.
The lawsuits, filed recently in the State Court of Claims, come almost a year after 26 inmates at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, N.Y., also sued, claiming officers there had orchestrated beatings during a facility-wide search in November 2022.
