This week, John LoTurco judged a mock trial scrimmage between Huntington High School vs. The Wheatley School at Huntington High School. This match was between two high school perennial powerhouses: Huntington High School won the Suffolk County Championship last season, and finished third in New York State. The Wheatley School finished second in the county last year, and previously won the Nassau County Championship in 2019.
John previously coached Huntington High School Mock Trial Team for seven seasons, and over that time, the program won three county championships with two second-place finishes in the state, and one third-place finish. His son founded the mock trial program at Huntington High School in 2014.
There are more than 400 teams across New York State competing in this annual competition.
