Barket Epstein Kearon Aldea & LoTurco, LLP is known for staying engaged in our communities across New York, from providing locally-minded counsel for clients to offering military discounts to show our thanks. We are also known for being frequently featured by various newsgroups like CNN, 60 Minutes, ABC 7, The New York Times, and many others. That’s why we are so excited to announce that we have had the opportunity to promote safe driving habits this holiday season by sponsoring National Impaired Driving Prevention Month on WABC Talk Radio!
For the next two weeks, as part of our sponsorship for National Impaired Driving Prevention Month, you can catch our ads on WABC Talk Radio at select times. Each ad features Attorney Steven Epstein, who promotes responsible driving, so everyone can get home safe for the holidays. Coming up soon, Attorney Epstein will also return to the WABC Talk Radio studio for a live interview, and our ads are running at various times each day, so you’re going to want to stay tuned.
National Impaired Driving Prevention Month is an annual campaign by the National Safety Council (NSC). It is perhaps the most widespread sober driving campaign each year, and arguably the most effective, especially because it occurs at the height of the holiday season. Drunk driving is far more likely during the holidays, which is why the timing of this safety campaign is so important. It’s also why Barket Epstein Kearon Aldea & LoTurco, LLP and WABC Talk Radio are so thrilled to team up to raise awareness.

Five Sober Driving Tips for the Holidays
Of course, we couldn’t get excited about our sponsorship with WABC Talk Radio for National Impaired Driving Prevention Month without sharing some quick sober driving safety tips to remember this holiday season.
- Plan ahead: Arrange transportation in advance by designating a sober driver or scheduling a rideshare service to get home.
- Use a designated driver: If you're going out with a group, choose someone who commits to staying sober and responsible for driving everyone safely.
- Avoid alcohol entirely if you’re driving: Even small amounts of alcohol can impair judgment and reaction time. Prioritize safety by steering clear of all alcoholic beverages if you’re going to be behind the wheel.
- Stay overnight if needed: If no safe transportation is available, plan to stay at a friend’s place or book a hotel nearby to avoid intoxicated driving.
- Encourage responsibility in others: Help family and friends make safe choices by discussing sober driving plans and offering alternatives to those who may consider driving after drinking, as well as sharing this blog with them.
