On Tuesday, District Attorney David Soares' office had to once again argue that Albany defense attorney Lee Kindlon provided an effective defense for Joseph Sposito, a man serving a 20-year sentence at Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Washington County. Sposito's appellate attorney Donna Aldea, one of our several former prosecutors turned defense attorneys and the head of our Appellate and Post-Conviction group, argued against Kindlon’s lawyering to the Appellate Division of state Supreme Court’s Third Department.
"This was not a surgical defense," Aldea said, countering an argument from prosecutors. "It was not a defense at all."
