Donna Aldea, head of Barket Epstein’s Appellate and Post-Conviction Litigation Group, argued the high-profile People v. Mayer Herskovic case last week before the Appellate Division. As defense counsel, Ms. Aldea argued that the evidence used to convict Mr. Herskovic, procured using controversial DNA-gathering techniques, was unreliable and legally insufficient to prove his guilt and that Mr. Herskovic was a scapegoat in this politically-charged prosecution.
